What on earth is a Sing-a-ma-jig???
If you haven't got a sing-a-ma-jig then you are definitely missing out. These little things, what do you call them, sing-a-ma-jigs are cool little toys that sing to you when you press their tummy.
But don't other toys sings, what's so special about these? The special thing about them for me is that they just make you laugh when you look at them and see what they can do. They are electronic toys and they move their mouths with every press of their tummy, emitting quite a high shrill note on the octave scale to make a tune.
I just love the name of them too, obviously its a play on the phrase thing-a-ma-jig but its cool to call it this I think as what else can you really call them.
According to an article I read, "Sing-a-ma-jigs are an American line of electronic, singing stuffed toys by Fisher-Price, first released in 2010. They are soft, plush dolls with terrycloth mouths.
There are about 12 different Sing-ama-jigs to choose from and apparently when paired together or in groups, the dolls automatically harmonize with each other. I have to get another one just to watch this in person! We received ours as a gift for my little boy but I love it just as much and so does my little girl.
We have the mint green Sing-a-ma-jig who sings the song, "It's raining, it's pouring." So when you press its tummy it will sing, it's on the first press, then, raining, then, it's and so on and so until until you decide to stop pressing its tummy. It's mouth also moves open and shut too just like its actually singing and its very funny to watch. Our sing-a-ma-jig is green, like I've said above and is wearing a cute little stripy top that secures with velcro at the back. He, (I don't know why, he's just a he) has a pink terrycloth mouth with little teeth inside that make a clicking noise when they come together.
There are different modes of singing that the Sing-a-ma-jig does depending on how you press the little button inside his right hand. When you first press this button he says, "Hello," is a funny electronic voice. To me, he really sounds like Stephen Hawking, it's that kind of electronic voice. THen, to activate the singing mode you press until you hear him say, "Let's sing," and then you start pressing him tummy so he sings. When you haven't pressed him for a minute or two he will say, "Goodnight." It was kind of spooky the first time he did it because I had forgotten about him and then he talked out of the blue!!
In conclusion, this toy doesn't really do much apart from sing in a funny voice with funny mouth movements but he is very entertaining and will keep you laughing whenever you see him.
