Advantages: Hours of fun and excitment

Disadvantages: Not enough butterflies

I brought this toy for my daughter in a charity shop and let me tell you it was the best pound ever spent!

I had played this game previous to even having my daughter with my little cousin and thought it was a lot of fun. I couldn't remember the rules etc when I saw it in the charity shop more just the pushing and shoving fun we had had one previous Christmas day!!

I thought for a pound it was worth a try and although the game states that it for ages 4 and up I thought my daughter would love this is she played it whilst being supervised by me.

I didn't really buy it for the gaming experience as I knew my daughter wouldn't really understand the cincept of trying to get as many butterflies as she could in her net but I knew she would enjoy the elephant blowing pretty colourful things around the room.

The aim of the game

Ele is an elephant (obviously) who likes to eat butterflies. Unfortunately she does not seem to like the taste of the butterflies so chooses to spit them out of her tall trunk. Your job is to catch them in your net before your contestants do. The winner - the one with the most butterflies in their net. Easy as that!!

There are four different colour nets and 3 different colour butterflies, however I don't think this is relevant. I often thought that you had to catch the colour which matched your net but I don't think this is the case otherwise there would not be enough batteries. Unfortunately for my pound I did not get the instructions with Elefun. Slight problem.

I do think that there should be loads and loads more butterflies as the game doesn't last long enough but then again I don't know how many came with it new as some may have been lost to its previous owner.

Requirements

Elefun requires 2 players to play properly but I have had a lot of fun playing it myself (yes I am 21) I actually think it is good exercise running around the room trying to catch the butterflies. You can however have up to 4 players and this is much more fun because there is a bit of competition.

Unfortunately this toy like many other, in fact all others, elefun requires batterys. 4 of them c size which run out quicker than you can say bob's your uncle. For this reason I suggest you get rechargables for this otherwise it will cost your more in batteries than it cost you to buy, especially if you only paid a pound.

Elefun is easily stored as his trunk twists off and folds up into the box, which is small and convenient as it just goes into the cupboard.

The RRP for this toy is about £12-13 but if you can get it in a charity shop like I did then it is definitely worth the money. It can be bought from loads of good toy shops and supermarkets including Tesco where you cans sometimes pick it up on special offer.

I really think that this toy is good for all ages and as I previously said my daughter who is 1 loves it so don't let the age limit put you off! As long as watch that they don't eat the butterflies I don't think it would be a problem. Adults will love it too!

I ma so glad I came across this little treasure in my local charity shop. We have had hours of fun with it and I plan to take it to my in laws on Christmas because I know we will have a laugh! Enjoy!!

Summary: Well worth it whether you pay £1 or £11
