      Charley bear and plane

Little Charley Bear is a character on the CBBC channel. He is voiced by James Corden and is a cute bear who has lots of fun adventures. My kids like to watch the show and so when we saw this cute airplane and Charley Bear cuddly toy we decided to get it for my little boy for Christmas. My husband works in the airline industry and so we have a lot of airplane toys around the house that the kids like to play with so it was nice to add another one to our collection. This airplane is fairly chunky and quite robust. When it came in the box all you needed to do to put it together was to clip the wheels and undercarriage into the body of the plane. This was fairly simple and then it was done, ready to play with. The airplane is made out of plastic and is a bright vibrant red colour. The plane itself is fairly simple. It has two wheels at the front and a small one at the back and the wheels turn when you push the plane along so its fun to zoom it across the floor as well as zooming it up in the sky. There is a grey propellor at the front of the plane which you need to twist manually for it to spin around. In the middle of the plane is a fairly large cut out section where the seat of the plane is. Its in here that Charley bear sits and you can get him to sit in it fairly well although there is no way to strap him in or attach him in so if you get too overexcited with zooming the plane in the air Charley does fall out. However, generally Charley is usually out of the plane anyway as my little girl loves to play with him. He's just a small soft toy, hand held size really but he's very cute. He looks just like his does on the television and has an old fashioned aviators hat and goggles to add to the look with the airplane. There is a little grey button on the front of the plane that you can press to hear Charley talk. He says phrases such as: go, go go, (Then laughs) ha ha ha up up and away go charley bear, go you've gotta love that bear (the phrase from the television show) woo hoo wow, can you fly loop the loop charley bear The voice is that of James Corden who voices the television show too. The plane also plays some whirring engine plane noises too which sound quite realistic. In order for the plane to do this it takes 2 x AAA batteries and they are pretty simple to replace. The only thing I don't like too much about the plane is the stickers. It came with stickers that you needed to stick onto the plane yourself. These stickers are yellow and orange and look just like flames. The stickers go on the wings, the nose and the tail of the plane but unfortunately they don't stick too well. Some are already peeling off a bit and the flame bits around the nose have pulled off a bit at the ends so I'm not thrilled with the stickers unfortunately but apart from that this is a fun plane.

A great toy with a few small flaws that in the end really do not make a difference to this toy

My little boy is charley bear mad and so he has a lot of toys from this particular character. This is one of his favourites and that is why I decided to review it. This toy retails at around £25 but to me this is a little over priced I waited until it was on sale for £11 and picked it up then which seems a much better price for it. With this toy you receive and aeroplane and a small teddy with goggles on that sits inside the plane and my son just loves to play with this teddy in and out of the plane. On the front of the plane is a small round button which when you press it says lots of phrases like up up and away, oh you have got to love that bear and a few others in all there are around 6 different sounds in all but they rotate in different patterns so little ones never know which sound is going to come out next. The button is very easy to press and although rather small my children managed to find it straight away and have no problem at all pressing it. This toy requires 2 AA batteries which are included and so far have lasted very well we have had this for around 4 months now and the batteries are still going strong even after having daily use which I believe is good going. As the plane is made of hard plastic is it very durable which is a good job when it is aimed to be for toddlers as sometimes they can be very rough with there toys. Apart from the stickers it has really faired well after use from 3 children and daily use from my youngest son I am happy to say that it still looks brand new and as it is made of plastic when it gets a little messy from my boys sticky fingers it can just be wiped down and looks sparkling again. The propellers on the front spin round when little one moves them which my children think is great especially accompanied by the plane noise the toy makes when you press the button and also the wheels on the bottom move so it can be pushed along the floor on carpet it only travels a very short distance but on our wooden floor it fly's along which is very pleasing to my son and always brings a huge smile. My only downside is that you have to add the stickers yourself. Although this is not time consuming or a pain to do I do find that they peel very easily and after 4 months of use we actually only have 1 sticker remaining on it as either the rest have pealed off or my children have peeled them off after they became rather tatty. Also you have to add the wheel yourself which can be a little tricky but once they are on they are fastened securely and we have never had a problem with them since. All 3 of my children enjoy this toy my youngest boy more than my eldest two but they still love to have a play with it. It is very durable and one of the best made charley bear toys we have found so far it has bounced of walls and floors crashed a number of times and still survives without a scratch which I believe is quite well going. This toy is recommended from 2 years plus but my little boy received this when he was just 1 and as there are no small pieces I did not see no harm in letting him play with it. The plane is a little big for him to hold but once he learnt how to hold it he has loved it and as he has grown a little he has used this toy more and more. I would recommend this toy for any charley bear fan it has proved to be a big hit with my children 18 months old boy, 3 year old girl and 4 year old boy and I am sure it will last a lot longer in our house.
