My youngest daughter loves Peppa Pig so when it was her birthday I was on the look out for items that were from her favourite character but a little bit different from what you see everywhere. I cvame acropss these cubes on Amazon and they cost me £5.63 with delivery which I thought was a great price.
The cubes came packaged in hard plastic packaging and it was shaped around the cubes and totally see through so you can see the cubes inside. There is a gap in the packaging so you can push the cubes together to give them a try and then there is a sheet of thick paper inside with the usual Peppa Pig background on it. The packaging was quite hard to get into and you certainly need scissors but even once you have cut across the tiop you have to manage to get your scissors in to cut down the packaging too which isn't the easiest of tasks
Inside the package you find two plastic cubes about 3 inches cubed, one of the cubes is much heavier than the other which I think is due to the workings all being in one cube. Each cube has 6 different pictures on it in halves so that when the two halves of the picture are matched together correctly the cubes will make a noise and say something to reward the child.
On the cube you have a rocket flying through the air with George and Peppa in the front which says "Spaceship Peppa ready for take off wee" then you have Peppa Pig jumping in a muddy puddle which says " I'm Peppa pig I love jumping in muddy puddles." Thirdly there is the car with the whole family in which says " Are we all ready, well let's go" then you have the boat with Grandpa and Grandma pig which says "welcome abroad me hearties." Fifthly there is Emily Elephant on a bicycle with George and Peppa and the cube makes a pigs snorting noise and finally there is a picture of Goegre with dinosaur and the cube says "Grrr dinosaur."
The pictures on the cube are all recognisable from the show and are all nice and brightly coloured, the cubes have little circular metal points on them which makes a circuit which is how the cube works and knows what noise to make. The cubes aren't wonderful in my opinion, it says on the packaging that theyu are for ages 2 and up but you have to be very precise with the cubes to make the connection and the cubes are actually a little too big for the hand span of a 2 year old so getting the connection right is very difficult.
My daughter likes the cubes when we set them off for her but she gets rather stressed with them when she is trying to do them herself and she can't get it to make a noise. For a 2 year old I think the fact of them managing to match the pictures is great so to have to be so precise is a little too much. I wouldn't recommend them, by the time your child is able to do them themselves they will be bored of the cubes anyway as all they do is make 6 different noises.
