Advantages: Nice girly looking doorbell
Disadvantages: Its very loud !!!
I had this pink flower doorbell as a child for Christmas. I was really excited about it as it was from Father Christmas and I couldn't wait to get it up and show my family and friends.
It is an attractive looking doorbell which is made from plastic, it is a see through pink colour with a purple centre (both of my favourite colours). There is a large pink flower which is where the sound comes from and a small flower which has the button of the doorbell. These two flowers are attached by a short wire.
To attach these to a door is easy. You either hang it on a nail from the hook on the big flower or stick it using a sticky foam square. That is how the little flower is stuck on. As the two flowers are attached it means the wire will be between the door and door frame when closed. This didn't make it hard to shut my door but it may for others.
Often I found the little flower would fall off the door and so was hanging off the wire. In the end this broke off completely and the doorbell no longer worked. As this was years ago I am not sure how long it lasted but I don't think it was very long.
Although the smaller flower kept falling and hitting the door it never scratched or cracked the plastic. This shows that it is made of a strong good quality plastic which it may not look like from the picture.
I always used to like it when people would ring the doorbell before entering my room but even as a child I thought it was incredibly loud. If it was rung the whole house could hear (and i'm not joking). Everyone that heard it commented on the volume.
It was easy to ring as you just press the middle of the small flower. You don't even have to push it too hard, it is probably too easy too push and so sometimes it would ring a couple of times at once.
The doorbell requires two AA batteries which are provided. They are put into the back of the large flower which is easy to do but I think you need a screwdriver to get in to the battery compartment. I never needed to change these batteries when I had the doorbell which is good.
This is meant for a bedroom door but it could be on any, I suppose it doesn't even have to be on a door, but it states bedroom because I don't think it would be safe for outdoors.
This doorbell is very girly and is a nice idea but it could do with a volume control. The only other issue I have with the doorbell is the wire stuck between the door as I don't think it is practical.
It can be bought from amazon for £10 which is a reasonable price for a toy doorbell. If only it was quieter.
Summary: A nice idea
