Advantages: Hours of fun and entertainment, learning to be a Jedi Knight as your father was before you!
Disadvantages: Needs 7 batteries for both Yoda and the Lightsaber, and Yoda is a bit difficult to turn off!
All I have to say is WOW!!!! Everyone needs to go out and buy an Interactive Yoda, with an extendable Lightsaber!!!! It was my birthday recently, (23 in case anyone was wondering) and I have, for a long time now, wanted to get one of these Interactive Yoda's that I have been hearing about. But as you can imagine at my more mature age this would seem childish and a waste of money. So I got my girlfriend to by it for me instead! And I am now on the road to becoming a Jedi Knight!! The Yoda unit itself looks amazing, it even has wispy grey hair. But it is not until you turn him on by moving him that you are truly amazed by what is available as a toy in today's market. The eyes open, and the mouth and ears move as Yoda comes to life. However it is not until he starts to speak to you that you fully appreciate how much time and effort has been made to create this fabulous 'toy'. He has a light sensor in his chest, which detects whether or not it is light or dark, it can be fun playing with him by covering the sensor, as he laughs as says, 'Hehehe, dark it is, see you I cannot'. The sensor however is also there for a more practical purpose, it receives pulses from a Lightsaber that is also provided with the Yoda. When at the specified distance, and once Yoda is ready to train you, you activate the Lightsaber. Yoda then proceeds to give you commands, teaching you how to yield the Jedi's weapon of justice. The sensors on the Lightsaber interact with the receiver on Yoda's chest and he can tell if you are doing as you are told. As you progress in your training Yoda also progresses with you, starting off each time where you left off. But where would be the fun in learning all day? Yoda can also play with you, asking you questions you have to answer by pressing sensors in his hands. He can also tell when he has been picked up, and when he is upside down. The only downside to Yoda's ant
ics is that he is extremely difficult to turn off, as if he is left alone he will continue to talk to you before he goes to sleep. One way I have found is to cover his light sensor so he thinks its dark, and only then will he nod off. I have to admit in once having a play with a Furby, (not like that!!!) and got bored very quickly with its nonsense talk and never ending need to be fed. With Yoda he is self-sufficient and coherent, so children (& adults) can actually learn. I think that this product is excellent, and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes Star Wars. In fact buy it for the kids and that way you get an excuse to play with it yourself!!
