Advantages: Sweet teddy dog with magnets and a bone. Strong box

Disadvantages: Was over prices doesn't do much

My daughter received one of these guys as a present for her 6th birthday. It was a toy she had seen in the shops and wanted before. The dog she got is the one pictured about the black and brown German Shepherd puppy she was more than happy with the puppy for the first hour or so. The she came back and asked me to help her train him. She told me the bone could be used to make he do tricks I was impressed by this concept and thought it was a good idea.

The instructions stated the you could "train" the dog to shake his head move his head toward the bone, wag his tail and raise his paw. The dog does do this by the simple use of magnets. The bone has a magnet inside as does the dogs nose, tail and paw. The magnet however is not strong enough to move anything without the bone being so close that it pulls the bone out your hand.

The dog comes in a nice nintendogs box, which is white and has a clean part so you can see the puppy. The box has withstood time very well. We kept the box because the bone is quite small and I was concerned it would get lost which it has a couple of times! The back of the boxes offers some educational information about the breed of dog you have purchased,

The dog is quite small and was well over priced when it was bought for her. This dogs RRP about 7 months ago when we got it was £19.99 the person who bought it dot it for £16.99 but I still do not think it is worth that much. I would say this toy is worth £10 maximum but I think it should be about a fiver. At £5, the dog would make a nice teddy with something a bit different.

We have had this dog 7 months and it has hardly been played with. Today it was sorted into a bag for the charity shop I asked my daughter why she did not want it and she said it does not work. I explained it does you use the bone to move thing etc. However, she insists it is rubbish and does not work!

I like this cute little teddy dog but you are paying for the brand and the fact it is nintendogs not because it is a really good toy. I am also guessing a younger child would find this a lot more interesting then a 6 year old.

For us this was a very over priced teddy but for others and children witha great imagination it could be much more.

Summary: Over priced stuffed dog in a good quality box!
