Advantages: There are lots of activites for your child to do.

Disadvantages: The volume doesn't seem to get very low.

The Vtech My laptop can be brought from various places including Amazon and Argos. The computer comes in two colours which are pink and orange. In Argos they are both priced at different prices, even though they are the same except for the colour. The pink one is £17.59 and the orange is £18.59.The laptop states it is suitable for children aged 3 to 6 years.

We brought our twins daughters one each for Christmas, one had the orange laptop and the other the pink and they love them. The computer looks bright and attractive. It has a fold down screen which is lcd. It also has an easy to use mouse which can be detached and will suit a left or right hand user. The mouse is attached to the mouse mat and it can move forward or backwards and sideways they can use this to pick the activity they want to do. The buttons on the keyboard part are quite big and bold and they display numbers and letters which your child will use to complete activities. A good thing about the computer is if they leave it on for ages and forget to turn it off then it will automatically turn off saving the battery life. The laptop comes with the 3 AA batteries that are required.

The laptop has over 30 activities for your child to do from the subjects: language, maths, games and music some examples of the activities are: finding the missing letter of a word, guiding the monkey through a maze using the mouse, identifying numbers, choosing which number is biggest and lots more. Before you do each activity a cheerful character will appear on the screen and help guide your child through what they have to do, making it more fun for them.

I think the laptop is great as it makes learning for your child fun. By playing on the laptops, my daughters have already started to recognise different letters. I think it is good how your child can just sit there quietly and learn by themselves. By playing on the laptop your child will also improve on there co-ordination skills as they will start to learn how to move the mouse etc. I also like the fact that now my daughters have there own laptop they stop trying to type on my real one.

With the laptop you also get a free work book for your child to look at. The book includes lots of activities including colouring in, maths, drawing, naming animals and lots more. I have started to work my way through the book with my daughters and they are really enjoying it. I think it is nice that we can do something together and you can see there learning.

The only negative thing I can say about the laptop is that when you turn the volume right down it is still quite loud. I'm not sure if I'm not doing it right but the sound level does change but would be good if it was a bit quieter other then that it's perfect.

(My review is also on dooyoo under the same username gsparkle thank you for reading)

Summary: Overall a great buy.
