AA The Driving School: Franchise Driving Schools are not Always the Best. (241 words)

I have had two not so pleasant experiences with instructors from Franchise schools. This is not to say that ALL driving instructors from these schools are bad ones; I am sure many are actually very good. But schools like the A.A or B.S.M. are like any large organisation. They can tend to lose sight of how important it is to treat ...  Read the complete review

I booked an appointment based in Borehamwood. Due to certain reasons, I cancelled it at least 4 days in advance. However, on the day of the appointment, the instructor showed up, seeming not known about my cancellation. Two weeks later, I received an insulting call and a couple of messages from the female instrutor to ask for money otherwise she ...  Read the complete review

I have personally grew dis-heartened by my South Manchester based AA instructor who generally turns up late, without even bothering to make an excuse up half the time, also he rarely initiates any kind of conversatioin to put you at ease. On a couple of occasions he has texted to say I've booked lessons I haven't making me feel guilty ...  Read the complete review

DO NOT USE AA DRIVING SCHOOL!!

One of the key requirements of any driving instructor is to turn up for the lesson .... AA instructors do not turn up! It is as simple as that and there is nothing more to say. They are totally useless and the HeadOffice call centre has an unhelpful attitude when you are calling to ask where your instructor is - you spend more time on the phone than in the car.

DO NOT USE THEM ... PLEASE, FOR YOUR OWN SANITY !!

My partner recieved his full licence upon doing a few driving lessons with an AA driver. Damn what a mistake. I mean he's the one that taught me how to drive but he does have bad driving habits...when he went through AA as I had gone to another driving school our opininons on raod safety and driving were 2 different opininons. He's gone from bad to worse and has always used his AA instructor as a good istructor. What ever the man showed him is definately not fit for the road. It is unsafe and risky but as always the same excuse, I had a qualified AA instructor. Well sorry I seem to think his instructor is just as thick as my partner and they both are suck drivers.

Lessons were booked for my daughter by a well known TV company. We were phoned with the details of the first appointment by the TV company a few days beforehand and given a booking reference number. On the appointed day I phoned the AA to confirm details and when eventually put through to a "human" was told that the Instructor ...  Read the complete review

I have to say that to me, it seems like people are giving reviews of their driving instructors rather than the AA driving school. You cannot judge them all by one instructor. I am with an AA instructor and I think he's great. I don't think you can choose one by the driving school. I think the best thing to do is go by word of mouth, who have people you know learnt with? That's probably your best bet to be honest with you :)

Good luck choosing!

I would definately stay well clear of AA driving instructors, the one I had was an absolute t*sser and I have heard from others that have used them that they are a waste of time and too expensive, heres my top 5 groans about them (1) Instructor used lame excuses and would cancel at short notice. (2) Instructor never really gave any progress reports, just felt like he was fleecing me of cash every week. (3) Instructor was a bad driver himself at times and was aggressive towards other road users. (4) Instructor would finish lessons early before time paid for. (5) AA Instructors just waste your time and money. DONT USE THEM! Go to an independent school instead. Beware of a Wimborne Dorset based AA instructor!!! I say no more. Good Luck... If you have New Driver driving instructors near you use them instead!

All AA and BSM instructors are franchisees. You will get no better or worse instruction than that with an independant instructor. Its luck of the draw. You may get an instructor you're happy with, you may not. It is irrelevant who they work for. All qualified instructors (displaying the green badge) choose whether they work for one of the 'big' ...  Read the complete review

AA DRIVING SCHOOL FROM AN AA INSTRUCTOR (309 words)

I am an instructor for the AA driving school. I started with them after passing my final exams. I thought the AA would be a good school to start with rather than going alone or starting with a local school. HOW WRONG! I received no training at all. This means that an AA instructor teaches how they want to not what the AA tells them. The only ...  Read the complete review

I had been taking lessons with an instructor who works for tha AA. I didn't actually contact the AA as the instructor lives local to me so I just phoned his number advertised locally. The ford focus is a nice big car to learn in but I have to say that this particular instructor I would not recommend to anyone. Out of about 40-50 pupils he has only ...  Read the complete review

In the Easter of 1998, our younger daughter at the age of 18 decided that she wanted to learn to drive. She thus sat and passed her Theory exam with no problems. She decided that she did not want to enrol with the small local driving school that her sister had used. This was mainly because this school then used a Fiat Tipo as their ...  Read the complete review

I have read with interest the opinions of various pupils of AA Driving School and it is interesting to note that many of them who rubbish the AA are those who failed their driving tests. For those who failed must have someone to blame, it is of course not their fault that they failed but somebody elses. I don't see anybody rubbishing driving ...  Read the complete review
