A cheap alternative to parking at the airport (Airport Parking & Hotels (APH))

Advantages: Its cheap!

Disadvantages: It is a short trek to the airport - but that wont bother most!

APH, for me, are the leaders in airport parking; a company I have used several times when wanting to leave the car before flying abroad. Primarily, I have used APH to fly from Birmingham.

At Birmingham, the car park is based several miles from the airport, at a small industrial estate near Coleshill, just off the M42. Upon arrival, it is immediately obvious how secure the compound is, with cameras, high fences and men in yellow jackets throughout. I had no reservations about my car being stolen. The process of leaving your car there is easy. A few weeks before I had booked a place on the internet for a 5 day price of less than £30 - a bargain when compared to the car parks offered directly through Birmingham Airport itself. OK, you don't benefit from the ability to step out out of you car into the airport, but you save on cost.

After leaving my car and keys with an attendant (who are all smiley and helpful), you check your car in with reception before stepping on a comfortable shuttle bus which whisks you to airport. The journey was trouble-free and rapid (about 10 minutes) via local A-roads. The driver was friendly and helpful with luggage. Upon returning 5 days later, the car was ready and waiting, keys intact.

If you can spare half an hour out of your life, park with APH and save a fortune. If you really can't park closer to the airport - but they do say that getting there is half the fun!
