Advantages: Get someone else to do your moving for you who is helpful

Disadvantages: Need to book them for 2 hours minimum, only within M25 area

I first used this company 15 months ago after friends' recommendation. I was moving my belongings across London to a flat on the second floor with no lift.

They turned up on time as I was the first customer of the day. The two guys who turned up, a Kiwi and an American, where helpful and polite (the Kiwi didn't mind pointing out to my nephew repeatedly that he was not Australian) and had no problems loading the Luton Van, and didn't get lost on the way. They also took a detour to pick up a sofa. They also had no problems taking my stuff up the many flights of stairs into the rooms as directed. The only damage I received was a squashed lampshade.

A few weeks ago I was moving my stuff into storage so again I phoned up Aussie Man and Van. This time they were a bit late however this was due to the traffic on the way to my flat. (Where I was living was notoriously bad for traffic problems.) The two guys who turned up, a Aussie and an Eastern European (sorry don't know country), again had no problems taking my stuff down the flights of stairs and loading the van. Again they took a detour, this time to pick up a bed. They then looked at the storage room I had booked and decided they could fit everything into it and so packed it without any directions for me. And they managed to fit everything into it first time. Both of them had apparently only been doing the job for 3 months. My replacement lampshade looked a little squashed again!

When I finally moved into my new place I called on Aussie Man Van again and the guys who turned up on time where an Aussie and a guy from Hungary. The Aussie cheerfully told me that most of the people they worked for the company were not Aussies and he was one of the longest serving movers at the company.The Hungarian informed me that it was his second week in the country. Again they carried stuff without complaining and didn't break a thing. They were also extremely glad there where no stairs involved and put boxes and furniture in the rooms I directed them to.

Area

The company address is now based in Wandsworth, London they were based in Acton when I first used them. They work anywhere within the M25 area, and from the M25 area to anywhere in the UK.

Price
=====
They are not cheaper than anyone else within the M25 in fact they are the same price. You do now have to book them for a minimum of 2 hours which you didn't have to when I first used them. However as most people moving within the M25 will take two hours due to traffic and/or having to move things up/down flights of stairs.

Booking
=======
You can book them at short notice but I book them from a week to two weeks in advanced. I also try and give them as much detail of what I'm moving as possible. The guys normally work in pairs but can work with 3 men but two of them have informed me separately that this is actually a hassle.

Packing
======
It goes without saying that you should pack your items properly. If they turn up and find you are in no way or state to move they can and will refuse to do the job. If you are not properly packed and have to pack then they will wait for you to do it if they don't have any more jobs on because you are paying them by the hour.
