Beacon Park Boats are situated about half way along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, at what must rate as one of the loveliest hire bases in the country - Llanfoist Wharf, a couple of miles above Abergavenny. There are eleven boats for hire, ranging from Owl, which has two berths, to Eagle and Peregrine, which can take up to seven people. Most of these boats are standard six foot ten inch narrowboats, but a few are wider - seven foot six or eight foot six, as the locks on the Mon and Brec are wider than standard narrow locks elsewhere in the country.
