Advantages: Comfortable, smooth drive. Very good customer service from BMW dealers.

Disadvantages: People expect you to be a bit of an idiot on the road because you drive a BMW.

In September 2009 I bought my first BMW, the 1 series 116I 2 ltr Sport. We got a really cracking deal at the Stratstone dealership which included free servicing for the next 5 years. I'm really impressed with the car, it's comfortable even with the sports seats, it's styish, the 2 ltr is has a good kick to it and it's just really nice to drive. The 2 ltr Isport gives me around 33 miles to the gallon and that is mainly city centre driving as I do very little motorway driving.

On the downside I only really have 2 complaints. Firstly I found with the bad winter we've had the framless windows become frozen with ice which means you can't open your door as they go down slightly to release the door. This was a reall pain first thing in the morning. Also the tyres and the fact that it is rear wheel drive make driving in ice and snow very interesting. It's not a problem if you are a confident driver in those conditions but if you are not I imagine it could be quite unnerving.

Overall I really like my BMW and would recommend it to anyone.

Summary: If you want a stylish, comfortable, attractive car that's reasonable priced look at the 1 series.
