Car Washing/Valeting in general

Most of us like to have a clean looking car and there are many ways in which we achieve this. From paying the kids a few pounds to clean it with a bucket and sponge to a whole car valeting/detailing service carried out by a professional company. For many of us, the quick run through the autocar wash is sufficient, a few pounds and the car looks clean, ok, on closer inspection it isn’t really clean, but at least the surface dirt has been removed, or has it? I can't understand people who spend every Sunday washing their car. In my opinion I find car washing completely boring. As you can imagine my car is quite dirty, sometimes I used to go to the local petrol station, and pay about £1.50 to go through their caer wash. However it would never clean it properly, it seemed to miss the back. To me I find car washes a rip off, whats the point of paying £1.50 if it is not going to clean your car right.
