Charlie BrownsNewest Review: ... in communication apparently. They were happy to answer my questions and explained why I needed the works done and I left with a wad of quotes to read at home. This could take a long time to sort out. Update: Took the tyre with a nail in to another tyre place. They pulled the nail out of the tyre Charlie Browns said (on paper) was unrepairable, and I have since driven over 1000 miles to cornwall (and everywhere in between) on it with no problems - the other garage didn't even charge to remove the nail. So not "unrepairable" or needing replacment at £70 eh Charlie Brown?... more |

Today my car has been for an MOT and full service at Charlie Browns. After haggling a bit and quoting their "price promise" I got £10 off the cost (£180 to £170) - Its worth haggling, I probably could have got more off if I pursued it. They explained that should the car fail its MOT they would re-MOT it free if I had the works done at Charlie Brown. The car passed its MOT, but the list of recommnded works needed is HUGE. They recommend I have a new exhaust, three new tyres (one has a nail in the shoulder of the tyre wall, Oddly my husband had a nail in the shoulder of his tyre wall when he went for an MOT at Charlie Browns last month too - we must ... Don't buy tyres without gettting a quote from these guys - they will beat EVERY quote!!! If you've got a big car with expensive tyres, they could save you £100 for four tyres. I'm told that I've got to write at least 75 words, so here goes... Once upon a time, another garage fitted the wrong type of wheel nut to our Vaulhall Calibra. I'm pretty sure that it was a Vaulhall main dealer at the time of a main service, but anyway it was discovered by the chaps at Charlie Browns when their socket wouldn't turn on the nut. They were determined not to let it get the better of them, and even called in some mates from the factory next ... Read the complete review

One of the shop staff at Charlie Browns sold my Dad the wrong brake fluid for my car and caused £800-worth of damage. He told the shop floor assistant what car I had and the assistant pointed to the brake fluid, but it was for hydraulic brakes (I think, not being into car mechanics myself)and it totally ruined my car. I wrote letters to the Managing Director and tried to get them to accept some responsibility but they wouldn't. Another time, I was in Kwik Fit and someone came in and started talking about how she'd had her car serviced by Charlie Browns and how she picked it up and was driving home when the engine dropped out ! The guy at Kwik Fit said ... Read the complete review

My story starts when I was ripped off by a local garage, (being charged for work that wasn't carried out) so I decided to go for a name everyone knows 'Charlie Browns' Charlie Browns is a network of high profile garages offering a professional and recognisable service. Because of this they charge a lot more money as it is a name you trust. I'm not a cheap skate, I'm willing to pay a fair price for a good job so off I wondered to Charlie Browns. My car needed new pads etc. The job was pricey (over £300) but a lot of work needed doing to my braking system i.e. Pads, disks, lines and a few other bits. I paid the bill ...
