I have had almost exactly the same experience as RachyDarling who wrote the previous review.

I had to leave O2 online because Securicor (now part of DHL) were incapable of delivering my upgraded phone. Promises not kept, wasted day off work. I went into a Vodafone shop instead.

Now Amazon have just started sending my regular orders by DHL/Securicor and I have had to stop using them also. WH Smith Online deliver for free to my local shop.

The problem is very simple. DHL/Securicor do not have enough local depots for residential delivery. Mine is about 10 miles of London traffic away.

DHL have obtained these contracts to deliver to residential addresses. But in the frequent instances when the householders work all week, the option of going to the depot is not really on for anyone other than the few who happen to live near a depot.

Amazon, laughably, said the reason they 'upgraded' me to DHL was so I could track my parcel. Yeah it was really great seeing my parcel delivered to my empty house each day.

It is very clear that DHL is geared towards business to business and not suitable for domestic delivery. I hope these internet retailers wake up before we all stop using them.
