Direct Line Rescue provides an excellent package for the price. We combine breakdown recovery with other insurance services and gain big discounts.

I was unfortunate enough to break down in Birmingham, Green Flag assigned a local garage called Beeches Recovery to assist with my electrical fault. The technician arrived promptly, in a decent looking recovery vehicle (it was actually in the Green Flag livery, which I thought looked very smart) and he was very polite and explained everything that he was doing to me.

Green Flag breakdown provides an excellent service and these local agents are able to respond quicker to calls for assistance. I was very impressed.

I am slowly becoming a big fan of Direct Line - each time you subscribe to one of their many services, you get a bigger discount on everything they do, including motor/home insurance, breakdown cover etc. After many years with RAC, I decided to give Direct Line a go, on the recommendation of others. Direct Line actually provide the service through Green Flag, who in turn don't actually have many of their own patrols, but instead subcontract out to local authorised garages who work on behalf of Green Flag. Direct line rescue is the car breakdown arm of direct Line insurance. I have been a member of this rescue service for about 2 and a half years. I joined because it was basically cheaper than the RAC with whom I had been a member for years and basically paying throw the nose for the privelge! I travel daily on the M62 so breakdown insurance is a must for me - my mechanical knowledge is zero!! My package with direct line includes breakdown, recovery, home breakdown and transport to a destination of my choice should they not be able to repair my car all this for £70!
