Advantages: you know the parcel is on the van if you have a tracking number

Disadvantages: drivers unable to use phones or depot unable to pass contact number to driver

Ordered a camera lens from what I thought was a UK shop on Amazon.co.uk turns out it was in the USA, but that's not the point, what is the point is that the lens was picked up by fedex in New York on the 30/09/09 arriving in the UK on 01/10/09 and on the local fedex van for delivery on 02/10/09, at 16:10 I saw the fedex van drive past but no delivery by the time it reached 18:00 I assumed it wasn't going to arrive and phoned the customer service number, 08456, found after the live chat option required a company name, as soon as I said why I was phoning they disconnected the call.
I then searched and found a local number for the depot and customer service, I phoned the customer service number on Saturday morning and was put through to the Leeds depot where i explained that the address was hard to find and gave both my home and mobile number to be passed to the driver in case he couldn't find the address on Monday.
Monday I check the tracking number and it says the parcel is on the van for delivery so I wait for the call from the driver asking for directions, no call to either number was made and at 17:57 the parcel is logged as back at the depot marked as incorrect address.
It is now going to take another call and I am not going to wait in another day I am going to the depot to collect the parcel whether they like it or not but they will be getting a call to know I am coming to collect the parcel
