Advantages: Going somewhere nice half the time

Disadvantages: Crowded and stressful

I have been fortunate to travel a lot around the world both with work and also as a holiday maker and I have managed to experience a number of airports in my time and here are a few of the high lights and low lights that I have experienced.

The Good

Schipol Airport in Amsterdam is a shoppers paradise and somewhere that I can happily spend a couple of hours waiting for a flight, it is well set out with very spacious areas, the food is varied and good quality and the shops ar brilliant, you can even get a massage (not the type you get in town lads before you get over excited).

Coventry airport was brilliant while Thompson flew from it, not only is it close by to Northampton but also you could be out of the airport within twenty minutes of your plane touching down. Not so good if you are stuck waiting for a departure but you cannot have everything as the facilities were basic.

The Bad

Here the list is longer I'm afraid.

Charles D Gaulle is a hideous nightmare and one of the most confusing airports I have ever visited, add to that the French not having a word for customer service and you have problems.

JFK is world famous for how bad its customs are, add to that the seperate spread out terminals and it is a nightmare to get into and also to get out of, that and it is full of hustlers and low lifes.

Any airport in London deserves a slating as they are so crowded, mainly because they do not have enough capacity they are always packed and it can be streesful using them, that and the M25 for Heathrow and Gatwick is a nightmare.

Summary: Airports are not great
