Green FlagNewest Review: ... and onward travel' type package compared with over £100 with the others but with Green Flag it is my car that is covered not me personally as it would be with the others. Which is fine by me, anyone I get in a car for a significant journey with has their own breakdown cover and if I'm getting a short lift with someone who hasn't and their car breaks down that's their problem. I actually didn't have any problems with my car that year so can't rate their assistance but I've heard its good. I didn't renew with them at the end of the year as I used my Clubcard vouchers to get free RAC cover but when I phoned to tell them I wasn't renewing the... more |

I got my breakdown cover from Green Flag last year after getting fed up with the AA over quoting me every year. So I shopped around and found that I could get the same cover at a much better price with Green Flag than the AA and the RAC. I must point out that its not exactly the same cover, for about £70 I got a 'home, roadside and onward travel' type package compared with over £100 with the others but with Green Flag it is my car that is covered not me personally as it would be with the others. Which is fine by me, anyone I get in a car for a significant journey with has their own breakdown cover and if I'm getting a short lift with someone who hasn't and their car ... I subscribe to Green Flag through Direct Line. After many years with RAC, I decided to give Direct Line a go, on the recommendation of others. Direct Line actually provide the service through Green Flag, who in turn don't actually have many of their own patrols, but instead subcontract out to local authorised garages who work on behalf of Green Flag. First, the price. Green Flag were a full £40 cheaper for a years cover for both mine and my partners car, for the same level of service that RAC/AA offer. Not only that, but becuase I bought through Direct Line, who I have my motor insurance with, I got a discount on the Green Flag rates. Which means ... Read the complete review

I have many friends ands family who swear by Green Flag and have had very good dealings with them so I decided to give them a go. I logged onto the GF website and read about the different cover levels. My main priority was being able to get my car brought home from anywhere in the UK which is covered by 'Basic Recovery' according to the GF site. So, I called GF on thier hotline and made ordered basic recovery. I checked with the salesperson that UK recovery was included and he assured me it was covered. I was quoted £43.05. Three days later I received my cover schedule from Direct Line. This didn't suprise me since I already knew GF had been bough by DL. I ... Read the complete review

Having been a member with Green Flag through my Citroen Insurance and extended Warranty, I have had the pleasure of calling them once in 2 and half years, after I had an accident and needed a tow home. I live only 2 and half miles from where I had the accident but it took me an hour to get home after waiting 45 minutes for Green Flag truck to come out. Sitting in cold car on a winter’s day with no heating as I could not start it is not a particularly pleasant experience. This was due to a fact the fuel cut out switch had kicked in, I did not know this at the time. This could have been dealt with over the phone at least to get my engine started so I could ...
