Good price and good customer service (Green Flag)

Advantages: Cheaper than quotes from AA and RAC

Disadvantages: Covers the car not the person - but that's not a problem for me

I got my breakdown cover from Green Flag last year after getting fed up with the AA over quoting me every year. So I shopped around and found that I could get the same cover at a much better price with Green Flag than the AA and the RAC. I must point out that its not exactly the same cover, for about £70 I got a 'home, roadside and onward travel' type package compared with over £100 with the others but with Green Flag it is my car that is covered not me personally as it would be with the others. Which is fine by me, anyone I get in a car for a significant journey with has their own breakdown cover and if I'm getting a short lift with someone who hasn't and their car breaks down that's their problem.

I actually didn't have any problems with my car that year so can't rate their assistance but I've heard its good.

I didn't renew with them at the end of the year as I used my Clubcard vouchers to get free RAC cover but when I phoned to tell them I wasn't renewing the woman I spoke to was so nice and friendly that I almost reconsidered! I definitely plan to go back to them next year.

Summary: I'd recommend but I still have to personally experience their breakdown assistance.
