Oakcroft Garage, Chessington, Surrey - AVOID !!

Stay away - I had a replacement gearbox and clutch fitted to my Golf at a cost of £1064. 15 months and only 11,000 miles later the gearbox failed again, splitting and losing oil all over my driveway. These symptoms being the same as the original fault. I was then forced to shell out another £340 for the gearbox to be repaired as Oakcroft insisted it was a different fault. So according to them I shouldn't expect a £495 recon. gearbox to last more than 11,000. miles They said "effectively it's a secondhand box in a different case"!!!!

I read the review from 2003. Nothing much has changed at Rodgman and Williams. They did a job for me recently. Didn't get the car back when promised. When it was returned, the drivers door panel was loose, there was overspray on the sill and I later noticed the repair on the door could be seen through the paint.
All in all, a rubbish job, will never use them again.
I've given one star as there is no option to give none !

Had my car recently repaired by local car repair garage called
RODGMAN & WILLIAMS in PLYMOUTH,DEVON, after being involved in a rather nasty car accident. Have to say that the overall service from this garage was impecable. The staff were courteous,helpful and kind with constant updates on progress on my car, and when my vehicle was returned to me, the finished repairs are excellent. Would definitely use again and recommend to others.
