Advantages: They have nice green and yellow vans...um sorry thats all i can think of!

Disadvantages: Hard to contact, rude, annoying, don't deliver when they are ment to and don't care about the parcel

In my mind City link are the weakest link when it comes to delivery! City Link collect and deliver parcels and packages they are a corrier company. I recently ordered myself a LCD monitor from Amazon I awaited eagerly for delivery. I do work but only part time, so I thought I would be able to catch the delivery person without to many problems but boy was I wrong! I arrived home one Tuesday and there was a card on my doormat inside the front door from City Link "sorry we have missed you we will try again tomorrow unless you phone to arrange a different day." I knew I was working a longer day and there were after school activities for my daughter so I probably would not be in so I phoned then up. The automated service took me though the age-old press one for this two for that etc. I entered my delivery number and pressed set keys for the day I wanted it to be delivered. I hung up being happy that the delivery would come to me Friday.

Friday morning I got up took my daughter to school at 8.45 got back into the house at 9.15 and found a card! Oh no that was my fault for going out I guess but the law states you must insure your children get to school or they will lock you up! I phoned up straight away as he had apparently dropped the card through my door at 9.10 am so he could not be far away. I phoned the number on the card and was told to enter my delivery number I did this and the system said you have already arranged alternative delivery please hold to speak to an operator. I held for over 10 minutes then it cut me off so I phoned repeatedly and again the same thing happened. As the time passed I realised the driver would be taking my parcel further and further away. I finally gave up, searched online for a contact number for them, and phoned that. The women who answered after several attempts arranged for my parcel to be brought on the Tuesday a week after the first delivery and a couple of days before Christmas. Monday I went to work came home and there was a City Link card saying "sorry we have missed you we will try again tomorrow unless you phone to arrange a different day." I could have cried or screamed I had missed them again.

Oh, hang on I thought it is Monday it is suppose to be coming Tuesday so another attempt at phoning and holding and phoning again. I spoke to a woman I explained to her that on Friday I phoned and they said the delivery could come to me Tuesday. The woman took my delivery number and looked at the system. She then said oh yes it says it will be delivered Tuesday. I said well I have a card from you and I missed the delivery today. She said oh yes we could not deliver it tomorrow because it is a parcel from Amazon and it needs to be returned to them if it is undelivered after 5 days. I said but you said it would come to me Tuesday. She got quite cross with me and said I did not tell you it would come Tuesday someone else did and it won't because it is going back to Amazon unless you collect if from us by midnight. I said could you not deliver it tomorrow. She said No it is going back to Amazon you will have to sort it out with them.

A quick phone call to the lovely guy at Amazon and they told City Link to deliver to me on the Tuesday! HA HA Amazon was very helpful and sorted it all out with City Link. The lady I spoke to at Amazon said she would phone me back as it is a nightmare getting hold of someone at City Link on the phone!

Tuesday morning a very tatty looking chap (long greasy hair, scruffy jeans, and holes in his shirt) arrived in a green and yellow City Link van. He parked at the entrance of the road with his van and caused traffic mayhem. He strutted up to the door if I had not seen him coming I would not have heard him knock. I opened the door and he stood there with my parcel by his feet he did not speak at first then he said sign there and handed me a clipboard. I signed and he took the clipboard back and walked away back to his van no thanks nothing. He left the large box outside on the doorstep where it was wet. He did not smile or say morning or thank you or anything. He was very grumpy and unapproachable.

I know this review does not tell you about sending parcels with them or using there website but I have not done this and I do not intend to. I would avoid dealing with City Link if you can. I would not send a parcel using them but I cannot control how other people send things. I hope that reading this review will make people think before sending stuff using them. They are hard to get hold of on the phone they are rude and do not care about there customers of the items there are delivering!

Summary: City Link is the weakest link. why can't we give 0 stars!

I'm really surprised by this. We have major problems with almost every company that deliver as we're on a main road and they never want to stop. Even royal mail don't attempt delivery. City Link are the only ones we've never had a problem with!

Couldn't agree more! And annoyingly the nearest depo to me is 30 minutes away - would maybe bother me less but the parcel had large note on saying to leave next door - and checking with them they were in all day so could easily have left parcel there! GAAAAH!
