I used to work for FedEx in their customer services department so i now how frustrating it can be not to receive parcels on time.
City Link though seems to want to take it to the next level. I work varied shift patterns so generally when they deliver during a weekday I've ordered goods especially because i will be at home. The other air tight alibi is i leave a note to leave with next door (as full time mother lives next door). approx 90% of the time i use them i find no card left and generally receive an e-mail/call from the company i bought goods from telling me of the attempted delivery. I appreciate there are times this can happen, but city link just seem to be the biggest cowboys out there just blatantly lying about delivery attempt. I couldnt even tell you the location of the other courier depots, but we are pretty much on first name terms at my local city link collection point. What adds to my woe's is i live on a walkway and it just seems too much energy for the driver to get out of his van and knock my door. Once I spotted the driver writing the missed delivery card as he walked to my house as he had to deliver a heavy parcel!
This may just be down to the drivers that attend my address, but i am covered from both the Coventry and Leicester depots.
Upon hearing my complaints all i get from city link is the one liner of "Im sorry mate, but our system states you were not in when we delivered".
It has literally got to the point where im considering buying goods from companies who do not use City Link. I will give them one stars on the basis I have at least received a couple of the parcels over the years.
