Don't use International Breakdown for a pre-purchase vehicle inspection. It's a tick box job and a complete waste of time and money. They use self-employed inspectors on a commission basis. I paid £185 to have a 4 year old Jeep inspected and they gave it a glowing report and "recommend to buy" statement. As a result the private seller naturally wouldn't budge on price and I thought I was getting a perfectly running Jeep. How wrong I was! Within only a few miles I found that the aircon wasn't working, smoke was coming from under the Jeep and it was mis-firing. A few days later the battery was flat and the RAC roadside ...
