Monkeys could do a better job (Kwik Fit)

Disadvantages: Totally shoddy workmanship, complete idiots dealing with customers

Having been informed that I need my brakes fixing, I went to Kwik Fit in GLOSSOP, High Peak because the local garage was too busy at that time. Immediately after we left the garage, the brakes didn't sound too good, so we went back and asked about it, and were told that it was fine - they always sound as bad as that. Two months later, they were still a bit sqeaky, but we thought they were probably still "bedding in". Anyway, having just had a call from my local (trusted) service garage, I now learn that the work they did was so badly bodged that the cylinder has been damaged. It will cost me £150 to replace work that cost me £150 only 6 months ago.

Yes, KwikFit have a "lifetime guarantee" on their brakes etc. but do I really want to go back there and have the same half-brained schmuck do more damage to my car? No thank you. Fortunately my local garage is going to provide me with the damaged parts and help me explain why this wouldn't have happened if the brakes had been fitted correctly in the first place.

My advice is DON'T GO TO KWIKFIT unless you really have no choice. There are some great local garages out there - just ask around in the local shop, etc. - that are worth paying instead of these mindless corporate cowboys.

Now all I have to do is get my money back...

Summary: You can't get thicker/slower/ruder than a Kwik Fit fitter - they're the boys to avoid at all costs!
