A most hilarious bunch of robdogs. For those of you who don't know their fitters wages are improved by the extras they sell....
Took car in for MOT as it was free with insurance. The car is a Honda S2000 which they happily referred to as the IS2, I200 etc etc. Received a phone call stating that the car had failed due to pitted rear brake discs (on a 3 year old car ha ha) I have to add here that this was to my wife who is not your average lady when it comes to cars.... She thanked them and said she was picking up the car in the next hour.
10 minutes later another phone call: "Hello Mrs xxx we cannot find your locking wheel nut." Luckily my wife was pulling up on the forecourt. She asked why they needed the locking wheel nut to which the reply was to change your brake pads and discs!!!! My wife then asked how they proposed to do this or should they be doing this without her permission or even quoting a price??!!!
When asked if a brake test had been performed the member of staff was evasive and eventually admitted that it had not been done however in his opinion they rear discs were pitted. He then could not answer why he had failed a car that he didn't even know the proper model name of for pitted rear brake discs when only a month ago the Honda main dealer serviced it and confirmed they were fine.
He hadn't even performed a brake efficiency test as required by VOSA
Tried to carry out work without a quote or permission
Was obstructive and evasive
Thought advantage could be taken by performing unnecessary work on a vehicle.
To cap it all off took the car to another garage half an hour later round the corner where it passed with flying colours and no advisories even.
Complete con artists.
Have lodged a complaint with trading standards and VOSA
Summary: Find local honest people not target, bonus driven thieves.
