Advantages: Nice Cars

Disadvantages: After sales care is very bad

I bought my car from a Vauxhall dealership Network Q. They were very nice and helpful and very quick at setting up the hire purchase account. We were given one years warantee with the car and informed that it had had the 144 checks. We got it back home and loved it. After six months we were due to get the Road Tax. The car was just over three years old when we bought it and I noticed that there was no MOT certificate with the paperwork. I phoned the garage who told me it didn't need one upto three years to which I replied but it was just over the three years old when I bought it from you and all paperwork we have states that the MOT was done. But it was not in the service wallet they had given us.

They then told us to bring it in and they would do one. No problem they did it and then we got the road tax. An oversight on there part and ours I thought.

Then as the warantee was due to run out we were sent a letter informing us that we could extend it. I went to the sales office to talk through my options and was sold an extension for two years. The lady who sold it to me told me it was exactly the same warantee that we had before which is what I wanted.

A couple of months later the car went wrong in a big way. with one child and another on the way I was strapped for cash as usual. And told the garage to have a look and let me know the damage. But in the mean time anything that was covered by the warantee to do anyway as it was covered it might as well be done. They then proceded to do work on my car including work not covered and charge us for it.

My husband was not about to let this happen. They had been told to do the work covered but any that we would have to pay for they were to consult us with the price first. Also it turns out the warantee sold to us was not the same as the one we had before but hardly covered anything. The lady who sold it to me had been sacked as she had sold a few to people giving wrong information.
After many phonecalls, letters then an actual heated visit from my husband they agreed to not charge us for the extra work that had been done. But we were stuck with a duff warantee that covered hardly anything and we had paid for it.

After some time of avoiding them. We received a letter inviting us to have a full service and get a free MOT in return. As both were due I decided to go ahead. The service was £150 and then they told me it would cost me a further £600 to get it through the MOT. Including charges of £49 per hour labour. I was not impressed and told them no thanks I would get a second opinion.

I went to another garage recomended to my by several friends and they put the car through it's MOT and replaced the faulty ABS brake sensor all for £115. A bit different to he £600 quoted by Network Q.

I know most of my opinion has been on the servicing side. But with most vauxhall dealerships these are combined. The salesmen are great until you have signed the agreement with them then they disappear off the face of the earth and you are left dealing with the service centre. Who are over rated, over priced and useless

I totaly agree. I love my vauxhall Frontera but cant stand the service i have had from 2 Network Q dealers locally. Whenever I have put my car in for service there is always a line of people with complaints.

I am sorry to hear that my experience wasn't a one off. But perhaps if alot of people get to read about it Network Q might start doing something about it. However, I think pigs might learn to fly first!

Gosh, reading this opinion bought it all back! We bought a White Ford Escort from network Q and it was back and forth for repairs! We were sick to death of it! Like you, I needed the car (school run etc). Cut to the chase, we ended up swapping it for an Astra (countless phonecalls and personal visits). Never again! Great opinion....really highlights Network Q's profit over customer service policy!
