Replacing a car can be very stressful. The most difficult decision is 'what car' to buy. My husband and I decided that we would make a list of all the cars we fancy, visit the dealerships and then make a short-list. This review is intended to give you an idea of how we found the dealerships, in this case Mercedes, as potential buyers. How we were treated and what their service was like. We cannot comment on after-sale service as we have not experienced it yet (we are still in the process of whittling down our short-list).
My husband and I have visited a Mercedes dealership on impulse twice during the past few months. Our first experience was not great, but during our second visit we received excellent customer service.
Our first visit happened when we drove past the Mercedes dealership close to a large shopping centre. We decided to pop into the dealership to have a look at the B-class as our Mini Cooper is getting a bit small for us. We have discovered that salespeople do not approach you at the dealership, you need to go to the reception area and ask for assistance. There wasn't a B-class on the showroom floor so the salesman had to show us his personal car. Unfortunately his car was very dirty and it didn't impress us at all.
Our next visit was about 2 weeks ago when we happened to pass the same dealership. On impulse we once again decided to pop in and were happy to find a new B-class on the showroom floor. This time we ended up with a lovely salesman who took us to look at the used cars and I spotted a lovely A-class. I was impressed that we were allowed to take it for a test-drive immediately. The salesman was helpful without being pushy. He has since telephoned us to let us know that the car we test-drove has been reduced in price, and promised to keep us up-to-date when good cars become available.
This second visit definitely made up for the first. Another plus point of the dealership is the fact that there is plenty customer parking.
