Took my car in for an oil filter and oil change over the weekend to the Cliftonville branch as they seem to have the best price around (£28), after 18 minutes of bieng on the ramp my oil filter had apparently been changed along with oil. They had however found more problems with my car while they were underneath it, my complete exhast system needs changing and all my brake fluid cables are corroded dangerously, they can repair all this for a total of £498, I decided to get a second opinion so left with car. As I drove my car away there was a cloud of black smoke coming out of my exhast, which I put down to having the oil changed and this was just the engine clearing out. By the time I had driven 7 miles home there was a funny ticking sound coming from the car and I stalled whenever I tried to slow down (which has never happened before). I decided to take car to Partco to get parts priced and ask a friend to fit them in the next couple of weeks, I gave the quotation to the man in Partco and mentioned the oil change and car not feeling quite right. Not only had they quoted me for parts that would not fit my car and certainly did not need replacing apart from a small hole in back box of exhaust (according to Partco) they had also not put a new oil filter on and managed to get water into the oil tank, which would have blown my head gasket!! I have spent the entire weekend getting oil tank drained again and flushing oil through system before any serious damage was done. All I can say is I shall never go to National Tyres again and will make sure everyone I meet knows what complete con artists they are when it comes to women on their own taking a car in for a simple job, and I would advise anyone who believes their car is ok after having work done by them to get it checked out by real mechanics, as your car could have been sabotaged too!

Summary: Don't even use for the simplest tasks!
