A Customer Hostile Company From the Top Down

A very unpleasant and customer hostile company from the top down. We used our local centre for several years and thought they were great and reasonably priced. It was only went something went wrong did they show their true colours. This may explain some of the positive reviews on here.
Something went seriously wrong with the engine shortly after a service. The evidence we gathered strongly suggested the problem was caused by the work done by Nationwide Autocentres. Sadly I can't go into details for legal reasons. Whether it was their fault or not is irrelevant. It was their no compromise, customer hostile attitude that was the problem. And that attitude came from senior managers in the company.
In this situation, many companies are willing to compromise and say pay half the costs of the repair required. Not Nationwide. No compromise. This means if you get your car serviced there and they screw up you will have to foot the bill yourself unless you can obtain absolute legal proof they caused the problem, which is almost impossible in most cases.
I therefore strongly recommend avoiding them at all costs, even if you think your local branch is a good one because if something goes wrong the local staff will do what the national management tell them.
Summary: Avoid at all costs.
