Advantages: Much cheaper than the Big Names.

Well, that's my name for "Autonational Rescue". I've been with them for about six years and think they're great.

They charge a flat fee of about £60+ (can't remember exactly what I paid - no more than £70, though). For that, you get the works - what the AA and RAC offers in their full cover.

The reason AR can charge so much less is because they don't have huge fleets of vans to maintain - they franchise the work out to local garages. I've used them...a lot! Well, that's what you get for owning bangers, I suppose....and they've always managed to help - except once when an axle snapped! Once, my clutch cable broke and the mechanic - an eager young knight in shining armour - made me up a temporary replacement on the spot! Lasted about a month before I had to have it properly seen to.

Only once had to wait more than an hour - and that was just an extra ten minutes because of a mix up. For the dosh, they can't be beat. I've certainly had my money's worth out of them.

Oh yes, and they give you a no-claims bonus. Not that I've ever had a chance to take advantage of this, oh no. It's a Roller for me next time. I swear.
