Disadvantages: Too many companies still use Parcelforce

I've had problems over and over again with Parcelforce.

"delivery attempted", when no delivery attempted.
"Cannot locate address" (this one after 2 so-called "delivery attempts").
"Request Redelivery" - Ignored
"Contact Us" - to confirm redelivery received - ignored.
"Contact Us" - to complain about lack of response - ignored.
"Contact Us" - by telephone - Forced to listen to recorded announcements for at least 5 minutes, before being cut off as soon as the phone rings, repeatedly.
While I do feel for drivers who are given impossible schedules by management, as a customer I'm sick and tired of being treated like this by this company. It's no good complaining to Parcelforce (see above), so I too have decided to stop using any company, seller or organisation that uses Parcelforce to deliver "anything", and I'm closing some of my regular accounts with those companies and telling them exactly why I can't deal with them anymore (see above).
I live in central London, at an address that can be pinpointed to within 5 metres on many online satellite photos. All of the parcels sent to me have printed (correct) postcode and address details. When I request a redelivery, I'm always in all day, waiting...
Part of the problem is that Parcelforce doesn't view recipients as its customers. Often it feels like we're the irritating bits of scum that ruin what would be a perfect system. I think the only real way to see any change is to avoid buying from anyone who uses Parcelforce, and tell them why. Parcelforce don't listen to individual's who've lost a day's holiday waiting in vain for a delivery, or received a damaged item, or had a parcel get lost. It may start listening once major contracts fail to be renewed!

Summary: Bad service - both customer and delivery.

Sounds strangely familiar. I live in the catchment area of the Acton Depot (used to be Cricklewood) and they messed me about badly. That is until I found out their direct line telephone number and called the depot direct. Parcel arrived by special van later that day. When asked by the driver where I got the number from as he himself didn't have it I just smiled.
