Hope this hasn't happened to you (Parcelforce)

Disadvantages: Theft by the carrier's staff, crap communication

I hope Uncle Nige hsn't had the same experience as me. Parcelforce's site (after two days of being down) showed repeated unsuccessful attempts to find the house. This in a street of ten houses! No-one has ever had any difficulty before. After the common experience of waiting fifteen minutes listening to the soundtrack to a 70s B movie, someone picks up the 'phone, realises they are speaking to a customer, swears and then says they are too busy to help. Promises to get somebody to 'phone back. Nobody does. Visit the depot. They eventually produce a squashed bundle of cardboard and sellotape with an apology that "it seems to have got a bit battered - hope it wasn't fragile". I open the "parcel" and - guess what - it's empty! So some scum at Parcelforce has helped themselves to a nice new Ipod Nano and strung out any chance of the theft being discovered by pretending to attempt to deliver. Guess how interested anybody at Parcelforce was at dealing with this issue!!!!
