Advantages: There simply isn't one when you analyse how much time you waste with these people

Disadvantages: Parcels opened, lost, stolen contents, and 50% of the items sent broken.

That is it! I have had it with Parcelforce. They are the most incompetent, useless bunch of individuals I have ever had to do business with.

I sell on the internet and send in the post items of 11-20kgs in weight. Not only do I regularly have an item go "missing", but I also have parcels turning up unwrapped with missing expensive contents, or so damaged it looks like they have been kicked all the way there. So what is going wrong here?

So let’s start with wrapping - is it sufficient?
- The items I send are wrapped in bubble wrap and then placed inside a box with packing peanuts. Apparently, this is not sufficient for parcel force. I have had items packed in this manner and when damaged, they have refused to pay out on the insurance (which costs extra) because they have deemed it to not be sufficient. When asked what would be sufficient they refused to comment. Naturally, the item was damaged beyond repair and cost £250. -total loss to date £400

Well maybe I haven't addressed the parcel correctly?
- Nope! When you take them to the post office, they are verified by the clerk so it must be correct. This means that they have the correct address on the label and on the printed label that the post office print. How can they fail to get it wrong? - total loss to date £300

What about guaranteed 48 hrs?
Simply not worth the paper it was printed on. I have never had one delivered in time.

I think it may be that Parcel Force employ such a thick headed bunch of morons that hate their job so much that they have to vent their fury on the parcels their customers send. When they do break, loose or steal your items, you then have to deal with the customer service. IT TAKES MONTHS! Thats right forget compensation in the same tax year. If they do get back to you (which is about as guaranteed as their 48 hr service) they probably will find your packaging insufficient. It takes hours to follow up one case, and quite frankly it is just not worth it!

This is meant to be a warning to others not to use them not just a bitch about Parcel Force. So here is a list which by no means is comprehensive, but an alternative to some other couriers.

There are no guarantees that any of these will be hugely better, but if i could leave parcel force 0 stars i would, and from nothing anything is up!

PS. The thing to check is make sure that they are not parcel force in disguise. I will repost another review under this heading should I find a really good one.

Summary: Quite simply, use anyone else but this bunch. See my list....

Good review.. I'm sad that you to have had problems. What does work is either get in contact with PostWatch or find out yourself the name of the MD and his business office address. Add up all your losses plus a monthly interest charge; also include a 5% charge of commercial debt interest. Send the bill to the MD personally, state in a letter that you require payment within 14 days otherwise you will take legal action. Include all your item reference numbers etc, even photograph evidence of a typical parcel that you send out to your customers. Photograph the state it comes back to you. (Try to not make the pictures look as if they have been staged)

State to the MD that you and Parcelforce are in breach of contract. You will get a quick response... If nothing happens within 14 days, without further warning; go to your local court with the claim with all your incurred costs. I'm sure that it will be resolved amicably, but you have to force the issue first. All the best
