Advantages: Unknown
Disadvantages: Inefficiency, Arrogance, Bad handling, Worse logistics
Parcelforce in Portugal is a disaster.
I have only had bad experiences with them. The "best" was an antique Chinese plate I bought on e-Bay.
It was mailed to my P.O. Box. The sender omitted to specify that it had been sent by Parcelforce so when, after several weeks, nothing had shown up and I complained to the Post Office, someone recognised the type of tracking number as being GLS (Parcelforce).
ParcelForce do not deliver to P.O box numbers - there seems to have been a falling out between them and the P.O.
I called them to be told that the parcel had been returned to sender after sitting in the warehouse for 21 days.
A day later a mailed notification turned up in my post box advising me to notify Parcelforce customer service to get my parcel delivered (48 hours after I had called them and the parcel had been returned!)
Finally the parcel turned up: my telephone number was clearly printed on the address slip!
The plate, packed in styrofoam, was smashed into several pieces - the "Force" in Parcelforce presumably refers to the handling rather than the logistics.
Summary: Parcel Force in Portugal is an unmitigated disaster
