Advantages: You must be joking
Disadvantages: They are still in business (Bitter I know...)
To be honest, I don't know where to start. I have to use Parcelforce because an internet shop uses them as their sole courier. So, stick with it as I tell you of my experience:- PROBLEM ONE: My computer breaks. I order components on next day, evening delivery. Parcelforce try to deliver them at mid-day. How does that work? When I phoned them, I received no appology, but the parcel was delivered in the evening on the second working day. PROBLEM TWO: Order online again, pay for next day evening delivery. Parcelforce take 4 working days to deliver. Again, no appology. PROBLEM THREE: More online ordering. This time, I pay for Saturday Delivery. This parcel, however, is sent out, and shown as In Transit. Then, somehow, one day is sitting in the depot, the next day is lost. How does that work?!? Three weeks later, I get a message from the company I ordered the products from that the parcel had been returned to them, with no attempt made at delivery. PROBLEM FOUR I am expecting a parcel on the 28th December, 2001. I phone Parcelforce first thing in the morning. "Your parcel will be delivered sometime between 9am and 5:30pm" I phoned 7 times that day, being told the same each time. Guess what? That's right. No Parcel. Each time something has happened, Parcelforce have taken my name and number, and started an investigaion, promising to come back to me with the results. Let me think. How many times have they got back to me? Oh yes. ZERO. I don't know how Royal Mail can be so reliable, and yet Parcelforce can't deliver anything. It is no wonder that Consignia are going bankrupt. Good ridance is all I can say.

- 29/12/01 Sorr for the low rating but this only tells me about your experiences of them when it went wrong as opposed to what "service" they offer cost etc. As a victim of past-it-force myself I really sympathise with you though! |

- 29/12/01 Well said! I have yet to see a positive opinion on Parcelforce. My own experience is similar to yours. I will never willingly use them again,though as you say, sometimes there is no choice! This was never as bad when it was the Royal Mail!! Kim |

- 29/12/01 Hubby and I use ParcelForce for our shipping "needs" for our business. Several times they have "waylaid" a package (they have perishables and MUST be delivered within 48 hours) and we ALWAYS go 24 hour next day delivery. I must say they are less then desireable. Good luck with future endevours with this company.. you will need it.
