Advantages: A good outlet for my anger

Disadvantages: un reliable, un helpful, un believable

Im not sure what Drives the couiers employed by parcel force. Maybe they have an incentive scheme that encourages them to race each other back to the depot, then gloat over how many items they managed to break. There's not many compamies that I dislike, but I've really taken an exception with Parcel force. They are, in short... USELESS!! Firstly, let me point out to the uninformed amongst you that they are run by the royal mail (consignia), I beleive. So you may expect them to at least have a call centre based customer service department. Wrong. Normally it takes me around 20 tries to get through to an agent. The line is normally engaged. What is that all about?? Also, most of the peole I've spoken to regarding my deliveries ae foreigners. I dont have a problem with this, but when I cannot understand the voice n the other end of the line (and viceverca I expect) then you start to wonder to yourself (while your on hold for a long length of time) 'what type of a monkey employs a foreigner who lacks the ability to grasp the basic concept of putting together a sentence using the english language??' And that is a question I cant awnser. Surely the core skill relevant to customer sevice is to understand the problem and offer corrective, friendly advice. These people do far, far from that.

Now, that said, primarily these guys main purpose is to deliver large items. If they were good at that, one may feel inclined to forgive their short fallings in other areas.

Let me put it like this. Over the last three weeks, I have ordered 5 Itmes from my next directory - large rug, large mirror, cd rack, floor lamp and shower curtain.

Firstly, they specified a delivery date. It was a monday. I was told the delivery would be made before 1pm. That was as specific as they could be. Oh well, I thought, I'll take the morning off work. So it got to 1pm, and nothing turned up. Off I went to work. I arrived home at 7pm.
Stuffed through
my letter box, in a battered looking cardboard box, I found my shower curtain. The 'courirer' had managed to get it to fit throught the letter box - probably using a hammer and chisel as it took me ages to remove the damned thing. So, I ask myslef, why did I bother taking the morning off when it fitted through the damned letter box!!!?!
But I didnt complain.

The next day they delivered me a mirror and a lamp. I unpacked the mirror and to my horror... It was cracked!!! aaaah! £170 woth of glass, ruined! The lamp? broken bulbs, all of them cracked tike the idiot courier had stamped on them! Anyway I wont rant on about the smaller points ive had with them but I will say that I've yet to see them do an impressive thing in any respect. 2 weeks on and Im still waiting for a replacement mirror and the rug. All because they cant specify a time that the delivery will be made, and I simply cannot have the whole day off from work. They are awkward and unco-operative and seem to be going out of their way NOT to help me. Horrid company.

The reason the company cannot give you a time of delivery is that they dont know how much work (i.e. how many parcels) they have to deliver the next..most of it hasnt even been posted yet. What if the driver van breaks down or is hijacked or stolen (which has happened). People have got to realise that they are not the only customers that the drivers have to visit every day, therefore if you dont answer the door in a couple of rings, we wont wait. If your going to order stuff to be delivered by post..make sure you are at home on the day of delivery, the company you order the good from can tell you. Parcelforce deliver over 750,000 items every day, 94% sucessfully, unfortunatly you always hear about the other 6%

I sympathize. My Parcelforce lot must be the laziest bunch around. they delight in ringing the bell and then running off before you've even had chance to answer. another time they just shoved a recorded delivery item through and didn't even bother to ask for my signature. It's a real joke.

Well it looks like you have your revenge on Parcelforce - Consignia announced up to 40,000 job cuts yesterday, many of which will be at Parcelforce. Don't spose it will make the service any better though.
