Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Disorganised, Damage to goods, Not enough depots

I was expecting a package through, a mobile phone to be precise. Parcel Force were the chosen courier of O2 Online (an equally incompetent company), and after about a month of waiting the package was finally on it's way to me.

They tried to deliver on a wednesday, but as most people are, I was at work. Living in Northamptonshire meant I could usually pop to the Parcel Force depot in Northampton to pick up a parcel, but PF have now closed that depot for what I can only imagine is a cost-cutting exercise. The depot this package was being delivered from was the next-closest one... in Leicester, about 40 miles away.

So the only option left to me was to get them to deliver it to a local Post Office, which I could then pick it up from at another time. So on the friday I knew the parcel should be at the post office down the road that I asked them to deliver it to. I left work early to get there before they closed, but guess what... it wasn't there. So on the phone again to PF and they say it was delivered and signed for (by the person at the PO). I went back to the PO and they insisted there was no parcel there.

Back on the phone to Parcel Farce, the guy admitted that they didn't actually know which post office it was left at! Then he said that he could maybe have a word with the driver on monday to see if he remembered where he'd taken it. Oh, but ever helpful the guy gave me a couple of other Post Office names near my postcode.

Thoroughly fed up I got up on saturday and had to go on an hour long walk round my town to check these other couple of POs I was told about. It was at neither, but luckily one PO owner, after confirming what a shower of sh*te PF were, suggested another PO to check. I made my way there (it was in no means local) and lo and behold they'd got it.

I actually used to work next to the Parcel Force depot in Northampton, and the company I worked for at the time used them because they we
re cheap and local. The problem is that if PF do manage to get a package to somebody, it is usually battered from what I can only assume us a game of football they play with it.

I hate the dread of expecting a package it always takes away from the excitement side as inevitably either it doesn't turn up, or it turns up and it's broken. :o(

Welcome to dooyoo though, we're a friendly community. Hope you enjoy reading, rating and commenting on others ops as well as writing some more for us.

Have fun and if you need a hand, just yell!
