Advantages: Sorry, but I can't think of any.

Disadvantages: Unreliable, Appalling customer service, They don't deliver!

I sent 2 parcels containing christmas presents to my parents in Turkey using Parcel Force's Euro 48 service. The first parcel was sent on the 18th December, and the second on the 20th. I specifically checked when I arranged collection that the 48 hour service was guaranteed, and that the parcels would be there for christmas.

I paid a total of £90.10 to Parcel Force.

I was given no documentation at all - the same guy picked up both parcels, and when he came to get the second parcel he told me that he'd had to fill in the documents for the first one when he got back to the depot. Then he couldn't give me any documents for the second parcel because he couldn't work his computer, so he deleted them before he printed them out.

I flew out to Turkey on 23rd December, and neither parcel had arrived by then. When I tried to find out if there was a problem, I was told I needed a consignment number - the one that I didn't get from the guy that picked my parcels up.

I flew back from Turkey on the 30th December, and still neither parcel had arrived. I complained to Parcel Force on the 31st December and was told that my local depot would call me. By the 2nd January they hadn't called, and the parcels still hadn't arrived in Turkey.

On 4th January one of the parcels was delivered back to my house, in England. There was no message or correspondence with it, and I still don't know why it wasn't delivered to Turkey. At the moment the other parcel is still missing - and is 340 hours late - and there is nothing I can do about it, because I have no documentation.

All the way through this, Parcel Force have been absolutely no help at all. I have been told repeatedly that there is "nothing I can do". I have three people's names that I have spoken to, but no-one else in Parcel Force knows who they are. I have spent hours on the phone trying to get customer services to answer my call. I
have spent hours on the phone to Turkey, and we have spent so many days sitting in the house waiting for Parcel Force to deliver, it's unbelievable.

I have just written to Parcel Force management threatening court action and demanding compensation, but my advice to anyone considering using Parcel Force's Euro 48 service is not to bother. The stress, hassle and frustration really aren't worth it.

Welcome to dooyoo! Wouldn't it have been cheaper to book an extra plane seat and take them with you? :)

That sounds awful. Don't you even have a receipt for the £90 you paid? If I was paying that kind of money that is the least I would have expected.

Have you tracked down the person/depot you originally sent the parcel with, and dealt with it that way?

Although very frustrating for you I expect Parcel Force would find it difficult without a consignment number.

Anyway, thanks for sharing and it has certainly made me think twice about using that part of the service although with sharing your experience with us then it has shown that if I did use it I would insist on a consignment or reference number.
