I must start by saying that I'm normally a failry easy going sort of fella but RAC Windscreens of Grantham have me FUMING!
2 months ago I had a crack in the windscreen of my 1 week old black Audi A6 (brand new car - pride and joy - you know every inch of it, right??). My insurers told me to take it into RAC Windscreens in Grantham for a replacement screen.
I dropped the car off intending to collect it in a couple of days.
As I waited for a taxi to take me home, I watched as the engineer reversed the car at speed into the garage, and then at rightangles on full lock into the bay where the work would be performed
When I returned 2 days later to collect the car, there was a large scuff/gouge across the front bumper and it was immediately clear that it had been scuffed as the car had careered into the bay where the work was undertaken (there were even black marks across the wall in front of the bay..)
At first the "Manager" of RAC Windscreens Grantham maintained that his engineers couldn't possibly have caused the damage, but after I opined that I wouldn't argue but would definitely sue them he relented and a couple of days leter sent out a mobile repair company to fix the work at their cost....
Yesterday another damaged screen! This time I thought "rather than taking it into the garage and risk more damage I will ask them to send out the mobile repair van and have them fix the screen in situ in my double garage with the car driven by myself".
When I phoned them back to reconfirm this, I was told " well we remember you from the previous dispute and therefore we wont send the mobile engineer to you as we dont trust you and dont want any more disputes - you'll have to bring the car into the garage"..
I must admit to a little "robust language" In trying to explain to the moron at the garage that perhaps his customer service skills needed a little polish, and that the original problem had started at their garage!
Thankfully my insurers have alternative service providers - NEVER EVER go to RAC Windscreens of Grantham if you expect customer service and professional care to be taken of your vehicle

Summary: No customer care, poor professional service, "the customer is always wrong"
