Having been with the rac under the response blue badge member ship for the last 13 years you would think I would have had many break downs well wrong.. but in June this year 2009 we got another car a fiat punto bought from mexborough south Yorkshire the car had a 12 month mot dated June the 9th until 2010 and it looked ok it had done 2 miles from the test and only 2 miles with us and it broke down and we called the rac the car had no water in it when it was sold also after we did get home we also found out the car had failed the test in Beverley in north Yorkshire on the 18th of may with over heating re same fault and it had just sold on.. the car came from T S CAR SALES in mexborough
The rac man came to us and he tested it out saying it's got no water in it and looks like it never had any in as its bone dry + it looks like it has done the head gasket
It had ...and we were left with it+ against our wishes the car was taken back to the T S car sales and the owner did not want to know at first but he did fit a new radiator and charged us for it he held the car to ransom.. as the rac man did not listen to us and just took it back saying you have rights but that left us going home 84 miles with out the car and having to go back for it only to be abused by the trader and also the rac gave the car a clean bill of health... but all was not ok the head had gone and the rac man gave the trader a note saying its ok now... but he never tested it to check he let my wife bring it home using water on the way home it only just got back and now 3+ weeks on the rac have still not replied to any of my 40+ e mails they just stick their head in the sand and yesterday the car was taken to a garage to have the head problem sorted out at a cost to us of over £300 so we got a car with duff test as it failed in Beverley and passed its test with same fault on in mexborough and also passed the rac.. no... test just to get it off their back and to this day still no sorry or reply I have now stopped my member rac ship from November 2009 and will be going to the AA who I think can do a better job than the rac for disabled members like me.
