Worst service centres ever. I have used Northbridge and Morley. They forget to do jobs, don't offer or give you a lift anywhere, their services miss out heaps of simple tasks like filling up the oil, water in wipers. They miss jobs off their lists. They charge WAY too much for second rate service, the reception girls are clueless, lazy and unhelpful. They are happt to leave you stranded without your car and half the jobs not being completed and offer no suggestion of help as to how you are going to get to work or home.DO NOT USE RAC for services. They are lazy, unhelpful and will not do the jobs that you pay for. RIPOFF !!

I received a letter from RAC at renewal, advising that my credit card details had expired. From this I understood that my renewal would not automatically take place and took out a new RAC policy via my car insurers Aviva. Recently bought a a secondhand car for my wife and felt quite relaxed buying from an unknown garage 80 miles away as the car had a satisfactory RAC Inspection report. Big mistake! On it's first outing after delivery the car, a 2 year old VW swerved under braking. So we had an independent garage check it out. They found the front brake ... Read the complete review

RAC Pre Purchase Vehicle InspectionAfter buying a vehicle earlier in the year which failed its MOT I decided on a RAC inspection check with my next potential car. Called them on a Tuesday to book an inspection to be told it will take 7 days for them to do, despite it saying on their website "takes 3 working days". I was told they would inform the dealer, of the the arrangement, which they did not do, and then failed to contact me with the report after. Was told they would email me a report by "7pm the same of the inspection" then was told it would take 2 days to process. All in all the dealer got annoyed that it took over 2 weeks to buy a car, and threatened to terminate the deal. Go for the AA, RAC are a waste of time and money.

I signed up to RAC just before Christmas last year (2009). It was snowy, very snowy, and equipped with a number of cans of de-icer, bottles of Coke and KitKats for sustenance, I was making the drive from Preston to Newcastle. Unfortunately, I hadn't thought ahead. After a disappointing half-hour of searching the internet for a ... Read the complete review

RAC is probably the second bets known breakdwon service in the UK. Its surpassed in publicity by the AA but apparently the RAC is popular - according to them anyway! Over the Christmas period, whilst driving on the A12, my car decided to go into limp mode, for those of you who don't know what this is, its like a safe mode that your car's computer enforces, when it thinks there is a problem with the engine. Due to the limp mode, i was limited to 37mph, and it would not let me go any faster, ... Read the complete review

I've been a member of the RAC for some time, but before yesterday I had never needed to call them out to the side of a motorway. After yesterday, I'm not sure I'm going to be calling them out in the future either. I have been a member for 15 years and have always owned a van and a car, i recently broke down in my Iveco van and the RAC refused to tow me home unless i paid!!, they claimed i did not have a commertial policy which i did not even know existed, but this raises the issue of why they sent a patrol out in the first place, they did this but ... I have been a member of the RAC ever since I was at uni in Bristol and kept breaking down in my unreliable Mr Bean green mini. They have never let me down! The service involves getting you back home in one piece and they will keep the job 'open' for you and get a larger vehicle to tow your car to a garage the next day if they can't fix ... I have had RAC cover since before I had even started to drive as it is included as an extra on my bank account, so its hard to judge exactly how much I pay each month, although working it out roughly taking into account what else I get with my account its probably costing me about £5-6 a month which I feel is very ... There was a story told by older boys when I was a younger boy about The Snake Pass, or to give it a more exciting moniker, the A57, which was a road that left from our village on the Cheshire/Derbyshire borders and took you over the moors of the High and Dark Peaks and over into the mysterious world they called "Meadowhall." ...
