Advantages: Single Letter Stamps Aren't Bad

Disadvantages: Wrong Post, High Parcel Prices, Missing Letters etc

I'm not entirely sure what planet my new postman is from, but needless to say they don't read and write in English on that planet yet they speak it well enough to get a job delivering my post.

I'm not usually one to get overly riled by poor service but post is not exactly something you can take elsewhere. Since the new postman started a few weeks ago, we've had several important letters go missing including our daughter's healthy start vouchers (so she lost out on £12 worth of milk last month) and my bank statement. We've also had post for house numbers that aren't even similar to ours as well as the same number but for a different street! This is just getting silly now and on complaining yesterday I simply got told they would "have a word with the new guy".

I don't like the new posting system either where you pay by shape as well as weight. Although the system is fair in theory, in practice all they've done is massively inflate their prices across the board! Now it's no longer worth selling much on ebay because it costs so much to send. You'd think they'd just be grateful for the extra business and the profits that brings really but instead they seem determined to cut down the number of parcels being sent which I find strange.

I like the mail redirect service and the holiday services they offer but I feel the prices for these services are really quite high for what they actually do. The only thing that I think is actually reasonably priced is the cost of standard letter stamps but then it's not so reasonable when you factor in all the re-deliveries us chumps have to do as a result of human error.

I suppose another positive is that we USED to have a postman who delivered on time to the right addresses up until recently. But it's not much of a positive if he's quit to go and work nights at Tesco is it?

Summary: I'm Fed Up.

I have a very good postman but my daughter who lives a few miles down the road doens't get her mail until at least 2pm and then often gets it for the road around the corner.

Ours was terrible when he first started. Thankfully, after a few weeks, he's got into the swing of it so we don't seem to have any problems now.
On the other hand, my parents had a card left by their postman while they were out, telling them that a parcel had been sent back to the main office. On phoning up to have it redelivered, my mum found out that the parcel had got lost, just a day later!

When I had a mail redirect service after moving house, I found a neighbour's bank statement had been swept up into our redirected mail, which we opened by accident. We forwarded it back to the correct owner, but it is worrying that they take so little care with such private mail.
