Advantages: The service

Disadvantages: Closures

The Royal Mail is one of the best things that has ever happened to this country, that and along with the NHS. Although it do have its downpoints, I think that this service is brilliantly. Introduced more than 50 years ago, the royal mail was set up in order to deliver our mail in a safe and secure manner, something that they have strived to do for all of that time.

We have all seen our local postman, and many people are friends with them. We normally get our mail in the morning, either before we wake up, or just after breakfast, which is great as I can read any letters before I go to work. In addition to postmen, the serive set up post offices all over the country, which are used to sent large parcels, international post, and they also provide offical documentation such as forms for a passport or driving license.

However the downsides tp this service are vast. Firstly, the service almost comes to a standstill around the christmas holidays, with so many letters being sent. Also, the postal service tend to go on strike quite often, so this can be a little annoying. But more recently, the major disadvantage is that they are starting to close many post offices, which will mainly affect small towns and villages.

Saying this, the advantages out way the disadvantages massively. It is a brilliant service and one that we cant do without.
