Advantages: Atleast when I send items I can be assured it will reach its destination.
Disadvantages: Receiving parcels can be a long process at times, red cards.
Too be honest, in the past I have always had a good service from Royal Mail whether it was due to receiving all my post within the time frame stated or not having any problems what so ever in sending items, as it has always arrived at the right place and within their stated time frame. It seemed to be a reliable method, but the past year or so has had me thinking what on earth had happened to this service, are the workers just not bothered about giving good service anymore? Things are definitely not the same.
I have no qualms about sending post via Royal Mail as whatever I have sent through this service has arrived at the right place without any problem whether it is sent within the UK or worldwide, I am reassured it has reached its destination.
My main problem is with the post man or woman who leave the red card saying "sorry, you were out" through the letterbox when actually I was in at the time and by the time I open the door they are so far down the road to even hear you scream. Its mainly for parcels I have this red card sent through the letterbox, they don't even knock, sometimes they even back date the card. I find it frustrating, their job is to deliver post, so why don't they! I have noticed they never put their Photo ID card serial number down on the card either, so I guess it makes it that much easier to escape being complained about.
Everytime my brother's stuff ends up at the delivery office he ends up going to pick it up. I am different on the other hand. To me I have paid for postage for this item to be delivered to my house not to go and pick it up at the delivery office. So I always arrange a redelivery via the website and am determined to get them to redeliver it and do their job. During Christmas I had to get them to redeliver two times, I guess they gave up on sending red cards and decided to actually redeliver the item.
Is it really that hard to deliver a parcel?
Summary: Lazy in delivering parcels.
