The limos are available for any special event and they can tailor a package to suit your needs. ***LIMO'S TO HIRE***
White Hummer Limo - This is new to Silk Limousines and is fitted to the highest standards and is in immaculate condition. Inside you will find 4 inbuilt TV's with DVD player and a brilliant sound system. This limo also includes leather seating, fibre optic lighting as well as a mirrored ceiling and illuminated bar area. This is a 12 seater model which also comes with climate control and tinted windows.

Super Stretched Hummer Limo - This limo is imported from the USA and can hold up to 14 passengers. The Hummer limo comes with leather seating, 2 TV units, glasses, multi-coloured interior lighting and a long mirrored ceiling.

White Lincoln Limo - Their traditional white Lincoln limo holds up to 8 passengers and comes with leather seating, mirrored ceiling, fibre optic lighting and tinted windows. This is the most popular limo and is modern looking and clean.

Black Lincoln Limo - Is the same shape and style as the white Lincoln limo and includes a TV and DVD player, Leather Seats, Climate control, and a bar area that contains glasses and tumblers for customers. This limo holds up to 8 passengers.

Pink Limo - This is popular for proms, hen nights and parties and can accommodate 8 passengers. This is a modern looking limousine which comes with leather seating, glasses, TV & DVD player, fibre optic lighting and a multi-change CD player. This Limo holds up to 8 passengers.

It does say on their website that their fleet of limousines and specifications may change without notice. You can how-ever give the booking team specific requirements on colour or interior features so they can provide the limo you want.

***BOOKING A LIMO***
You can ask for a quote for a limo using their online form on their website or by e-mailing them at the e-mail address provided which is on their website. They will send you reply with the quote for your trip and ask whether you would like to book the limo or not.

When finalising a booking you must send a £50 cheque to the address they supply to support your booking. The rest of the money can be paid on the night which must be given to the driver before the journey commences.

***PRICE/AVALIABILITY***
Prices can be anything from £100+ depending on whether you would like a single or return journey and the distance of your journey as well. Bear in mind that during prom seasons and Christmas the limos do get booked up very quickly, so you may have to book quite early to avoid disappointment.

***MY EXPERIENCE***
We decided to book a limo for my friend's hen night which was on a Saturday night. I booked at least 4-5 weeks in advance to ensure that we could definitely get a limo in time for the Hen Night. I sent an enquiry off using the e-mail address on the website and received a quote back within a few hours.

The quote was very reasonable and we I went ahead and confirmed that we wanted the limo for the Hen night. I next had to send a cheque for at least £50 to secure the booking and I had a terms and conditions form which was sent to be by e-mail which I had to sign and send back to them by post. There was also a form confirming all of the final details as well such as pick up times and locations, etc.

On the night the limo arrived on time and the exterior was lovely and clean. The driver looked smart and was dressed in black trousers, white shirt and a tie. I gave the driver the rest of the money and went to the back of the limo to open the door for us to get in. Inside the limo it was lovely and clean and smelt fresh. The limo had black leather seating, mirrored ceiling, small TV screen towards the front of the limo and lighting around the seats. It also had a smoke machine in the limo as well which the driver could activate. The bar was clean and was full with wine glasses and tumblers. In the bar there were 2 coolers one of which had a complimentary bottle of champagne in.

There was a CD player which was located towards the back of the limo and a selection of CD's in a case which you could choose to play. In the limo there was also temperature control and you could control the volume in the limo as well.

Through-out the entire journey which was only a short trip we were all buzzing with excitement. We put some music on and sang and chatted as the driver drove us to our destination. The ride was smooth and pleasant and all the girls enjoyed the time in the limo. We arrived at our destination on time and the driver opened the doors for us and confirmed the time he would pick us up for the return journey.

The driver arrived on time to pick us up for the return journey home, which by then we were tired and very sleepy. We all got into the limo and relaxed as we started our journey home. A few of the girls fell asleep in the limo on the way home. We were dropped off at the confirmed drop off point and we thanked the driver for a fantastic time and gave him a tip as well.

***OVERALL OPINION***
The limo's interior and exterior was lovely and clean and we all felt like VIP star's in the chauffeur driven limo. The driver was polite and professional and also made us laugh as well. There was a great selection on CD's to choose from for the CD player and there was plenty of room to stretch our legs out as well.

The entire journey was pleasant and we all felt safe. I would highly recommend this limo company as they will quote you fantastic prices and prices which are a lot cheaper compared to other limo companies in the same area. This was an exciting and pleasant experience and I would definitely use this company again when booking a limo again.

***PLEASE NOTE WHEN ENQUIRING ABOUT A LIMO***

Under current laws, most limousines are restricted to carrying no more than eight passengers unless they have COIF (Certificate of Initial Fitness). This is due to the low ceilings and inadequate safety exit access, which is dangerous when the limo is overcrowded.

If the vehicle operators want to carry more people, they need to register the vehicle as a passenger carrying vehicle (PCV), likening it to a bus, and carry a PCV licence. However, the Vehicle Operator Service Agency (VOSA) who issues the licences will not recognise stretch limos as PCVs as they do not meet the safety requirements for this class of vehicle.

This includes the oversized limousines, such as the stretch Hummer, some of which can carry up to 28 passengers, and are doing so without proper licensing. Therefore, many limo hire companies are taking advantage of the public and police ignorance of the passenger laws and operating illegally.
To obtain a PCV, vehicles need to have a certificate of initial fitness (COIF) and very few new Ford Excursion (140") and Hummer limos have now passed these to qualify for the COIF.

To get around this, some operators have registered their limos as mini buses. However, simply being registered as a mini bus does not give operators the right to transport more than eight passengers.

Don't take the word of the operator when he tells you the limo can seat all 12 of your friends.

I have personally seen police stop limo's on roads to check how many passengers the limo is carrying and if they are carrying more than 8 passengers in the limo, they have a right to take the limo license away, which means your lovely paid for, limo journey would have to come to an end!
