Advantages: Good for young status symbol

Disadvantages: Could be too fast for some and a death weapon

I used to make sports cars until three years ago. These were a very popular car and hand built.
I worked at the company for nearly thirty years, twenty of those I quite enjoyed until the Management consultants came in and took away the Family feeling within the company. I was glad to retire and start a new life.
However I didn't own one of those cars as I had a family and they were out of my price range. The banks didn't want to loan me so much then with a mortgage to pay as well.
I did own an MGB GT (1969) with the chrome bumpers and grill, The engine was a 1700 cc and the body was solid thus the MPG (Miles per Gallon) was only around 28-33 on a run. I was sorry to have to sell it, but it was a bit impractical with a family on the way. It was and still is a status because your car is special, especially to you with the long sports bonnet and fast back. My only regret was it didn't have a sun roof or a soft top to put down during the hot summer months, but during the winter at least, I didn't get the cold frosty chills down my neck from gaps in the canvass as many of my friends experienced in their convertables.
The main thing about having a sports car especially if it is different it is a head turner. People look in admiration. Yes some call you a "Poser" as well.
That didn't matter to me because there were many who wanted to talk about it.
I occassionally drove the work's cars for charity events, but those days are now in the past and just a memory of those hot sunny days.
I always think that if the MG company had managed things differently and honestly they would still be British owned as many other companies in this country.

Summary: A brief look back and admiration of the sports car I owned
