Disadvantages: Everything
Whenever I need to send a parcel I always use Royal Mail, as I like the Track and Trace feature allowing me to check on the Internet that it has arrived. (See other post). The only time I need to have contact with White Arrow is when we buy things off QVC The Shopping Channel on TV. For some reason they insist on using White Arrow to deliver the parcels, maybe only in our area, I don't know. Even after I complained, they still use them as they said they can't change it for one person. Anyway, out of the numerous parcels we have had delivered, only one has been delivered first attempt. They always put a card through saying we weren't in, and when you phone to re-arrange it they can never give you a reasonably precise time (morning or afternoon would do), and it always means waiting another couple of days before they try again. We've given them a neighbours address to leave it at if we aren't in, and sometimes they don't even use that. I've even offered to go and get it from their depot, which is 10 miles away, but they say you can't, for some reason I can't remember now. We've also had a few that have arrived damaged. But whether that was down to White Arrow, or already damaged when it left the warehouse, I don't know. I would use an alternative courier if you can. I don't recommend them to anyone.

- 23/10/00 I've complain to QVC too! (many times). In fact, I've stopped ordering from most companies that use White Arrow. I have so many WA horror stories that, well, if you ever have a really boring 24 hours or so....... |
