Greyhound (USA)
by Basel
Three months back I bought a ticket with my friend to go with greyhound from Toronto to Niagara falls and coming back at night on the same day, we went to the bus terminal before the time and we were on the line waiting and suddenly the dispatcher closed the door and told us that the bus has already 22 passenger with 23 seat left, we ... were 30 on the line, but me and my friends were maybe 7 or 8'th on the line so it should be fine, then the man start asking about people going to USA and pulled them from the line and when we asked he said if he won't accommodate us he will bring another bus, to make it short after all of this he left us without anything and with one choice only which is either waiting for the next one which is after 2 hours or go home, if we agree to go with the next bus it will be so short in Niagara so we decided to ask for refund, on aug they sent me letter says that the refund rules don't go with my situation and I have to have medical reason for not going or death case in close relative and the lady who read the letter I guess she figured out that my situation doesn't apply, and as she is so so nice she offered me voucher for the money, and of course I didn't accept that as it wasnt my fault that their dispatcher stopped us from getting to the bus, and I called to ask for somebody to speak with, that was happened on 21 Aug, they told me somebody will talk to me within 48-72 hours, and I am still waiting somebody to call, I called them so many time and they keep appologising and resend another request for the supervisor to call me. Anyway it's now 17 Sep and still waiting their call. With the previous experience I know that this company is nothing but bad but I just wanna talk to this supervisor not to ask for money but to ask why he didn't call me for this long time.
I totally recommend to walk to Niagara Falls rather than going with this company.
And I wish that I am in USA so I would teach this company how to respect the customers by dragging the supervisor to court but unfortunately in Canada if you go to court you only loos your money and time. As they are not so tough in these cases. Read the complete review |

P&O North Sea Ferries
by Marty Hirst
As a regular user of just about all of the available North Sea crossings (average 150 crossings per year for the last ten years) I have experienced many levels of standard and a range of quality of service.
Last night, for the first time in ages, I shipped on P&O's "Pride of Hull".
I was given a cabin key ... on deck 8, just down the corridor from the noisy cabaret/disco.
On entering my cabin and checking the bathroom I noticed the shower-head was held in position by a plastic bag being tied around it and the soap dispenser was defective, filled but unserviceable. I lifted the toilet lid and was confronted by a toilet bowl filled to the brim with human waste. These ships sail only once a day so it'd been there for at least twelve hours. Quickly closing the lid and pressing & holding the vacuum button disposed of that little welcome gift. I reported it to reception, she apologised.
Down at the bar I ordered a pint of Stella. £3,50 to you sir, or Euro5,10
Five Euro's and Ten Cents for a pint of Stella?? (Euro3,20 on Stena Line)
Over the intercom an announcer "was pleased to inform us" that the Bureaux de Change was now open and that P&O charges no commission on transactions. Today's exchange rate was Euro1,41 to the pound. I quickly checked online, the going rate that day was Euro1,26 to the pound. Who needs commission at those rates?
Deck 8 is, of course, directly above deck 7. Deck 7 is the main car-deck. Ships move a little and vibrate slightly. Car alarms are sensitive to all this and trip regularly. This is all very audible through the floor and resulted in a broken night's sleep.
Eventually, at 05,30hrs I gave up and took a cold shower. "No hot water?", I hear you ask. Plenty of hot water, I just needed to cool down, the wall thermostat was broken and was stuck on 30 degrees all night!
Thank you P&O. Thank you for reminding me why I prefer crossing with Stena Line. Read the complete review |

Condor Ferries
by Catarina Sousa
Condor Ferries takes advantage of the fact they are the only company going to the island. I presented a complaint to the email I was given and they never even answered back! I think it is lack of respect! On the website it says that the boat departs at 14h 30m and when we arrive at 14h we were told we couldn't get on boat that late. The ... ridiculous part of it, is that 10 minutes before, they had called us and we told where we were and the woman said "so you will be on time!" And then they don't let us go, knowing that there are no boats until 5am!! We didn't have car or bikes and not big luggage, just the two of us. It was mean. She actually told us there was nothing she could do because the boat had left. Half an hour earlier!!!! But life is ironic and after a week, in our return, they departed 15 minutes after the hour!!! To all my friends I tell to go to the islands, it's great, but by PLANE!!!! Read the complete review |
